Welcome
Click here for the club's latest news: NOVEMBER NEWSFLASH!
Visitors
are always very welcome at the Central Coast Leagues Club Camera Club's
fortnightly meetings. Our aim is to encourage, inspire and educate
photographers from beginners to the more experienced shutterbug. We're
a friendly bunch and enjoy regular get-togethers, talking cameras and
techniques, and exchanging ideas with our members and visitors. We also
have an annual weekend away.
We're a mixture of keen amateurs and semi-professionals; some of us are
brand new to photography while others have been with the club for over
30 years. Among our members we have award-winners and accredited judges
at both national and international level.
The first Tuesday of the month
is our print competition night
with three grades for entries: Advanced for experienced photographers,
Intermediate, and Beginners for new photographers. We set a subject
(Portrait/Nature, etc.) three times a year, but otherwise competitions
are open subject. External Judges critique all entries and award prizes
which are tallied by points for our annual award. We encourage digital
prints and traditional film images as entries to our monthly
competitions (see Print Section). Click here for Print entry
forms 2009.
On the third Tuesday of the month we hold our digital competition night (see Digital Section).
If the month has a fifth Tuesday, we invite speakers or hold hands-on workshops on various topics by our more experienced members to
pass on their knowledge and skills. Click here for 2009 Programme.
In March a presentation dinner and exhibition of the club's best work round off the previous year's annual events. Point winners in
all categories receive awards at an evening attended by the past year's
judges and speakers, members of our club and other camera clubs, and interested
visitors.
On behalf of the committee
and all our members, I hope to welcome you to our next camera club meeting.
Janie News, President
